Just a quick post for today -- I've been so busy, getting estimates for new flooring, having my hair fixed before my stylist goes away for a month, starting up my watercolor class again, getting ready for Open Studios -- I feel as if I've been in a whirlwind this week.
Probably -- maybe -- the last of the dahlias -- I've got to get out and shoot something else!!
We're off to Big Sur tomorrow, my Loved One and I -- our birthdays are just a week apart, and he always takes a day off work and we do something. "Doing something" usually involves going to Big Sur, because it's just about our favorite place on earth. He will save the crossword puzzle from the morning's paper, if it's nice and warm (probably not), we'll put the top down, we'll stop for artichokes on the way home, and it will be a good day. There's something special about spending the day with the one you love, just taking a drive, having a nice lunch, relaxing after a long week's work.
The view from Nepenthe, a beautiful restaurant site
And also, I hope to have an announcement before too long: I'm working on an e-course! I intend to ask a few people to try out the first few segments, so stay tuned . . .
Have a great day tomorrow!

We have two dogs and talk often about getting laminate/hard wood floors with our next tax refund....I hate to think what is under this carpet no matter how often I vacuum of have it shampooed. I get what you are saying here ;)....Looking forward to what you are doing with an e-course..can't wait. Have fun on your 'mini-vacation'....take lots of photos.
enjoy that birthday getaway! and good luck with the flooring!
I love dahlias. I planted a ton this summer and am a little disappointed that not more of them have bloomed. But I never get tired of looking at them, even in photos!
I'm not tired of the Dahlias yet!
I would love to get rid of our carpet and go with laminate flooring, maybe someday. (sigh)
Many years ago, when I lived in SoCal, I got to visit Big Sur. Enjoy your day with your sweetie and happy birthday to you both! :)
The three dahlias are awesome, especially the background.
Hardwood or laminate is the way to go if you have pets. It took me years to convince my husband and now he loves it, too. Cleaning is a two-step process tho: vacuum, then mop. But I don't mop every time. It's really much easier and cleaner and healthier!
Hope you have a wonderful time in Big Sur! Sounds like the perfect getaway. :)
My dahlia buds are just starting to peek open. The colors advertised look so beautiful - I can't wait! =]
