Devil in a Cute White Cat Suit

Well, the cat is in the doghouse.  We're having our laminate floors installed next Monday, and yesterday I spent a lot of time buying two rugs, one of which is below.

The guilty party
Linkup with Tuesdays Around the World

When I bought the first rug and brought it home, Buttercup immediately started crawling all over it and, of course, clawing it.  Grrrr.

I decided to go back for the second rug, brought that one home, and the same thing.  She loves them.  I yelled at her, threw some flooring samples in her general direction (she chased them, then returned to the rug), to no avail.  She was possessed.  (Nota bene:  I know I'm not supposed to throw things at the cat, but my spray bottle has disappeared.)

Perhaps this rug has catnip woven into the fiber?  It's suspiciously green . . .
Last night, as I was trying to go to sleep, I heard her scratching the rug again, and leapt up, kicked her out of the room, and closed the door.  I figured that one night of not hearing Buttercup scratching the rug or clawing the push pins off the bulletin board or playing with electric cables under the table would do me good.  (Generally, the time to hear these things and have to get up is 3:30 AM or so.)

So this morning, as my Loved One was up and about, he left the door open.  Buttercup rushed in and . . . do I need to spell it out for you?  I leapt up again, tripped over something, wrenched my leg, banged my shoulder into the desk, and wound up bumping my head in the corner behind the door, which slammed, and the whole impact caused a picture to fall off the wall in the hallway!

My adorable kitty going about her adorable kitty business.

Nothing like starting your day with a bang!  As my daughter said, that's one way to close a door.

Oh no! Hope you are okay. Buttercup sounds like a handful! Is there an anti-catnip powder you could sprinkle on the rug?

Oh my goodness you've been rung through the ringer for sure with Buttercups antics. One of our cats like to pull off those push pins, wonder what the attraction to them is. Hope you weren't hurt to badly. Loved the photo of your little white devil in the blinds.

Thanks, everyone (except Tex, for laughing ;p ) Ida, I'm afraid she's going to get one of those pushpins in her mouth or God forbid, swallow one. I've heard of something you can spray on and maybe I'll try to figure out what it is, but as my husband said, she can't help herself.

Oh no! Pets. You love them. They drive you nuts. That is a gorgeous rug though! Hope you're not too hurt!

Well -- I wrenched the knee that I need to have replaced, so I'm seriously hobbling around, but that's okay -- I still love her.

:) lol! love the last photo. they're so crazy. we have the same problem with our rugs but as you say they're doing their business. and they can be so adorable. I took a nap in the afternoon and when I woke up my cat was missing (we have four). my mother started making fun of me always wanting to know where my cat is.. in the end we found her sleeping on my mother closet (I didn't make fun of her but I wanted to, lol). my cat had grabbed some clothes, made a nest and was peacefully in heaven sleeping.. sorry about your knee. hope you get well soon. xxo

Is Kitty still alive? Not been murdered yet?

Thanks everyone, and yes, Friko, she lives yet -- I love her so much that I have to live with her little quirks --

Cats can be so annoying.. they do exactly what they want. Melody, our cat, loves to sit on the back of the lounge - and yes, claw! We keep them covered at night, but she always manages to pull the cover back.
Good luck with the art show! --and the floor...
